The Final Task

"I remember..."

submission: The Final Task
date: December 29, 2009

I remember when this was one of the largest (MB wise) of all movies on Newgrounds. Took me 15 minutes to load at college. I still like it.

Pika VS Onix

"Very nice effort, some critique for improvement"

submission: Pika VS Onix
date: July 26, 2009

For such a short period of time spent animating, you did a very nice job. The scene with the Onix's head in the background and the tail in the foreground is particularly well done. Pikachu turning around in the opening scene is also a nice piece of animation.

A few suggestions to improve your work:

-First, a quality button. The full screen motion blur slows down performance significantly. Allowing for either automatic quality changes or select button onscreen would add to the viewers enjoyment.

-Motion blur, while a nice effect, was overused just a little. Shorter instances of blurring and more select application of the blur would help improve the overall effect. Remember that economy is one of the main principles of design-a little can go a long way.

-The ending felt tacked on. It lacked the quality present in the rest of the animation. It detracted from the overall viewing experience, and in my case dropped my rating.

Overall great job.

Jump by Neodelight

"Brings back memories"

submission: Jump by Neodelight
date: February 1, 2008

This reminds me of when I used to play games like Adventure!, Montezuma's Revenge, and the like when I was a kid. Great job at capturing the simple wonder of those early adventure games, while taking into lessons learned in modern platformers.
